Am I tripping? ....Or how should this be handled ?

So I’ve been talking to this guy and we were dating but I just broke up with him because he was selling dinners via Facebook and this girl commented and he asked her are you single? She says no. His response was yeah me too. She was like I’m surprised you don’t have a girlfriend all boldly on Facebook where I can see it. So I told him I will continue to be his girlfriend if he publicly post it on Facebook that he’s in a relationship... because he is in a relationship with me so he literally disrespected me. am I wrong or how should this been handled .. he doesn’t want to do it so I told him that he should leave me alone and let me be.
