If the police let that violent drunk go home and kill an innocent family on the way home?

He wasn't driving so I don't see how he'd have killed an innocent family. He was parked.

And he was shot to death on his back not while confrontation.

That is your imagination. He never killed a family before and it makes no sense to think he would care to now.

He was shot in his back, while running away.
