We do have equality, if you are prepared to work for something you can have it irrespective of colour religion or sex.
however if all you want is a free hand out you are going to be disappointed.

@goldenorchid Yes we have Equal opportunity regardless, but by some working at something where others don't you are then back to having inequality again.

@Longleggedlady so by equality you actually mean socialism, a concept where a few do all the work and the rest benefit, the trouble with socialism is eventually you run out of other people's money.

This may be the way things are in the UK. But if you’re going to claim that’s how things are in the U.S., you’re mistaken, even now. And I say that as someone who has never received nor sought any “handouts”.

@bijouxbroussard Yes there are Equal rights and there should be, but that does not make for equality, we as humans will never strive to be merely equal we strive to be better as we are a competitive species. You have also got to take into account that some people have greater drive, are willing to do more to improve their lives than others are.
