Everyone who is able. Especially those that have sat on their hands and not engaged in acts of service to their community much of their adult lives.
Especially parents who are looking to model to their young children how we can show support to our disadvantaged neighbors. Especially those of us with the privilege of a safe comfortable home to return to after we've finish shopping in our still operating grocery and pharmacy.
And not just this week.
This should be a a lifestyle change for some of us.
In a few weeks when the food shelves are empty of the recent donations - we will need to keep rising up for our neighbors.
In a few months when school starts back up, systemic racism in the education system will still exist.
The clean up cannot be just the buildings and broken glass. It's an emotional clean up. A process and policy clean up.
Right now we need to educate ourselves who our local elected officials really are so this fall can get to that next phase of clean up in motion, by voting.
