Lefties Jumping Ship?

I am thinking about it and I have been a die hard Democrat. The left is out of control. The Democratic party cannot survive until we pull it together.

That's an astute observation. I'm not advocating either side but "the left" used to have a very decidedly middle ground - ie politically middle, socially liberal. That shift to the extreme left, and how it's been tolerated and almost heralded by the press has left a lot of us so-called normal, law abiding sensible people shaking our heads. We're not all 20 year olds living on mommy & daddy's (not directed at you!)...some of us work, thrive and just want to live! There's no place for me throwing rocks or looting under the guise of justice.

@luctoretemergo I’m in my 20s, I work, and I do not support rioting or some of the ideas the media is spreading to fuel civil unrest, which our president has decidedly encouraged to be met with more violence. I consider myself a moderate Democrat which I believe there are still good ones out there. I agree with your statement. I may add that extremism on the right and left has been propagandized in the media and held up. It seems people are looking to disrupt the system and what has been considered normal. I don’t support extreme conservatism and I don’t support extreme liberalism. I strongly feel the focus should be less on Democrat vs. republican and more on collaborative bipartisan solutions to common problems from two different perspectives. Just as John McCain propagated near the end of his life. Until there is peace made, until we can respect one another, I do not see these behaviors going away.
@luctoretemergo What about the GOP moving to the far right?

@LeopoldBloom Agreed - but honestly, and I'm going to stereotype here: when was the last time you saw a bunch of white guys in suits breaking things when a verdict did not go their way? You know what they do? They have fund-raisers, raise money then elect a guy that will do their bidding. The right don't want to do that...they want to act like kids. I'm telling you, use the system - it's there to be used!...for better or worse.

@YoungPoet345 I agree with you in spades - that dialogue between the two - that "middle ground"....it's gone....
