I mean the world would have had fewer deaths and wars and humanity as a whole would be thousands of years more technologically advanced so...couldnt imagine why. I mean it it's not like countries with lower rates of religious people are happier and healthier...*checks* oh look. They are.

@RandomForest The religions of man such as Secularism, Fascism, Communism etc would indicate otherwise.

@RandomForest why do they support islam ?
@hippyjoe1955 those are government types. The fascists of Germany and Italy were primary Christians. Hence the swastika.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@RandomForest Not really. They all had/have an underlying belief system that they held/hold to. Even the drive for more and more government has an ancient religious aspect to it. The emperors/kings/pharaohs were considered gods. The same is today. The 'government' is to protect us from all evil and bad outcomes and provide our every need.
@hippyjoe1955 Ah. No. The fascists believed they were doing the christian gods work for sure. But fascism is a government.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@RandomForest NOPE! Fascism was secular in nature. I knew a number of Christians who were German nationals living in Germany at the time of Hitler. One of them was almost shot for refusing to join the SS as a young man. They all said that their families knew that Hitler and fascism were demonic and not Christian. Even the German Nazis themselves fashioned themselves after the Nordic gods and not Yahweh. You do need to read up on a bit of history.
@hippyjoe1955 sure sure let me just give you an excerpt of history see if it matches your narrative.

[quote]A popular image of the Nazis is that they were fundamentally anti-Christian while devout Christians were anti-Nazi. The truth is that German Christians supported the Nazis because they believed that Adolf Hitler was a gift to the German people from God. German Christianity was a divinely sanctioned religious movement which combined Christian doctrine and German character in a unique and desirable manner: True Christianity was German and True German-ness was Christian.

Whoops doesn't seem like it does!

There wouldn't be a Holocaust without Christianity. As harsh a statement as that sounds it's true.

@RandomForest Some Christmas and Easter Christians did support the Nazis. You know the folks that only go to church on Christmas and Easter because of the pageantry. The RC church certainly didn't and even cooperated in a plot to have Hitler removed. The Evangelical churches unanimously opposed Hitler. You might have missed those points.
@hippyjoe1955 Oh. You mean the same Catholic church that was silent throughout the Holocaust. The same church that made a treaty with the Nazis. That Roman Catholic church?

@RandomForest You really need to learn some history. Too Funny! Run along son you have some reading to do. I am not going to discuss facts with someone as ignorant of them as you.

I guess the foolishness of Christians goes in cycles.

[quote]Church leaders and clergy held a range of opinions about National Socialism. Some Catholic leaders welcomed Hitler’s call to “overcome the un-Germanic spirit” and feared that “atheistic communism” was more of a threat to the Catholic Church than the Nazis were.
