My neighbor down the hall who broke my bike 2 weeks ago... just beat the shit out of the old lady down the hall.

I'm so upset. The police cant do anything and the landlord HASNT DONE anything ... he even stole packages from the units... I swear I'm so upset. Her face is black and blue and her eyes are nearly swollen shut. I cleaned her whole apartment today. And spent time with her as well and gave her my radio so she can listen to music. 🥺

I have to be really honest here because honestly we see feminist articles sometimes suggesting that being kind is a cop out for having something else really going on or in your favor and

anyways.... I've been subjected to it so to disagree with it is kind of ....

forbidden? it's just that I hear arguments that we should be able to expect basic human decency and my reaction to that is more akin to "should" being the key word.[i][b] You cannot actually[/b][/i], which is why kindness IS special.

I've found humans to be cruel and lacking in basic human decency entirely too often so I've learned not to expect it.

ergo when I see acts of kindness like this I'm not going to undercut them myself. you should feel good about yourself.

@TimingQuasars Short: People suck and to Expect Kindness as a baseline is for people who don't really live in the real world. So If I see somebody being NICE I'm going to Admire that simply because I know better than to expect it.
