It's either mutating ridiculously fast, or they are not conducting proper experimentation because everyone is demanding answers and they are under political pressure to just say ANYTHING!
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Quizzical Nah, it's just established to spread less efficiently from surfaces rather than face-to-face. It's been known for a while, at least over here. It just didn't get to the press as of yet.

@Quizzical 👍️ seems so

@Elessar Fair enough to say that it spreads LESS from surfaces than from face-to-face contact, but that's not to say that the possibility isn't there SO: HANDWASHING is still VERY IMPORTANT because you are always going to touch your face (mouth and eyes) and those are the 'doorways' for the virus.
When people start passing messages that 'touching surfaces is less dangerous' they are disregarding that not everyone reads the whole message!!

@JollyRoger you are not fed up with the bulshit going on ?
Elessar · 26-30, M
@JollyRoger I know, and I do. I'm just less worried about the chances of bringing it at home on a package or a product stacked in a supermarket shelf and somehow contaminated.

@Elessar The only way you can be less concerned is if 'the other guy' is as attentive as you are to the possibility of him/her carrying the virus. Someone who is contagious and who handles (a plastic) package is quite likely to leave a contaminated residue from him/her coughing into their hand AND SO:

@JollyRoger Yes, but reduced chances of getting it from surfaces vs droplets means it's not as easy as we previously speculated. Even because if it was, the lock-down wouldn't have helped much, I know very few who sterilize any and every product before storing them or even consuming them at home. I wonder who sterilizes, say, a delivered pizza.

@Elessar Cardboard (paper) is supposed to only have a 4 minute retention time. (who really knows??)

@JollyRoger Plenty of stuff are not wrapped in cardboard, but plastic.
