What do you think about this consequence?

So I was 16 and got cocky because my mom was the boss at the restaurant she owns. And she decided to fire me for a month. She rehired me after that. Anytime I wanted to go out to do anything she would say well if you had a job you’d have money but you got fired. I think it was pretty effective. I’d let her do the same thing to my kids. Because pretty much it hurt me that you’re not above anyone so don’t be too cocky
