Lots of people still gathering in churches...against abortion but perfectly willing to infect/kill others

could not be more selfish

Fore serious cereal, though, I completely disagree with the statement that "acting with caution and wisdom does not indicate a lack of trust in God." On the contrary, it is affirmative proof that trusting in your deity is not enough to protect you from bad results.

There isn't really any other way to interpret that.

@daisymay I am a staunch Atheist and pissed at these people...expecting an invisible sky fairy to keep them healthy while infecting each other and who knows how many others...nonsense

@daisymay I don’t think those statements are contradictory. I think the pastor is saying, trust in god, but take responsibility for yourself. God gave the right to free will. Our actions have consequences and we cannot rely on God to evade them. God can and will protect us, but he can’t make us immortal or live our lives for us. We have to take responsibility and follow his teachings. God can’t help us if we can’t first help ourselves or take his guidance. By keeping people safe and not gathering in large groups, we are showing kindness, we are following God’s will. God gives us guidance and strength, but he doesn’t make decisions for us or give immunity.

Well, let me go ahead and eliminate the suspense. You are wrong. 100%. Faith is THE ONLY measurement. Did you not pay attention in Sunday School?

Bad theist!

Unless it's a gay conversion therapy camp, right?

Either your deity can do anything or it is limited in what it can do.

Which is it?
but he can’t make us immortal
Well, why not, are you saying that not all things are possible through your deity? That is a major departure from every accepted sect's interpretation of your deity.

Weird.

@daisymay I think you are generalizing all religious people into one big stereotyped blob. I don’t think there’s room for civil intellectual discussion. And I am actually not a theist. I just happen to have a decent dose of respect for people who are and do not lump all of their ideas into a box. Originally, I did not know all parties here were atheists that hated “theists” so I mistakenly engaged in the conversation. My mistake. I work from home, my brain is fried, and I ain’t got time to be yelled at and yell at people on the internet cause I’m offended they think something different or disagree with me. If there’s one thing you should double check and think about from religion it’s loving your neighbor and being kind to others. But I resign from this conversation thread because as stated, all are here to attack and argue and that’s not my game. Peace out ✌️

Which is exactly the same as saying that faith, alone, is worthless. I can list a LOT of cult sects that would be offended by that assertion.

Explain?
YoungPoet345 · 26-30, F
Btw, it’s faith alone to get into heaven. Not to gain immortality on earth and magic powers to avoid whatever you please cause god’s okay with it. And that’s just one Presbyterianism
YoungPoet345 · 26-30, F
@daisymay that has nothing to do with what I just said. I’m not gonna argue with you like you are redirecting me to do, because you don’t respect me and there is no healthy conversation possible
YoungPoet345 · 26-30, F
I’m sorry it isn’t my hobby to have yelling matches on the internet and tear others down
Fernie · F
@YoungPoet345 good, we don't need you here....you took this into the cosmos..very dramatic and wrong...I don't see where anyone spoke about ALL religious people.
daisymay · 51-55, T
@YoungPoet345
I think you are generalizing all religious people into one big stereotyped blob.
And I think you are excusing a whole lot of bullshit being perpetrated by supposedly godly people.

Now what?
Originally, I did not know all parties here were atheists that hated “theists” so I mistakenly engaged in the conversation
You poor, misunderstood victim! How dare we criticize theists and people who apologize for them? Truly, theists and theist apologists are the real victims here.

I am so sorry to have offended your sensibilities. How about you fuck off instead and keep your uninformed opinions to yourself? Is that too easy or something?
daisymay · 51-55, T
@YoungPoet345
I’m sorry it isn’t my hobby to have yelling matches on the internet and tear others down
No, just to do a bunch of drive-bys, play victim and run away claiming moral victory because you were just trying to tell everyone how wrong they were.

Whatever, apologist. You're dismissed.
