@Sadwithasmile here in New Zealand we have universal healthcare. My friend suffered a STEMI (the worst of all heart attacks). Ambulance to hospital, two weeks in ICU, a further 2 weeks of hospital care including angiograms and other pre-surgery assessments, triple bypass surgery, a further 5 weeks post-op hospital care including constant assessments, meds, etc., and a raft of medications to be taken for the rest of his life.

@newjaninev2 Im 100% for universal healthcare but not the NHS which brits use to Show off and bully everyone else. where I’m from, I get free universal healthcare. My father had both his kidneys fail, he 2 surgeries, free dialysis 3 times a week with 2 free meals per dialysis. Meals are steak, roasted chicken or fish. His pills cost a fortune with a specific pill costing 1 thousand dollars which regulates his calcium and he takes 1 a week with a spare given. Our government hospitals have a wait time of 3 minutes and 9 minutes is the amount of time it takes you to arrive to the hospital after calling the ambulance. He also has a free ambulance take him to and from his dialysis. If my government cannot help they pay for all expenses to have you treated in the best hospitals around the world plus a family member/friend’s expenses to accompany you. Best part is my country is 100% tax free.

@newjaninev2 I hope your friend gets well and my uncle had an open heart. I’m so happy that the global healthcare is getting better. But please do a lot of checkups if possible for everything that you could get because it is much better to have it found earlier than later. Please stay safe and I love New Zealanders, I wish the world could learn to be as friendly as your people and country, you and every peaceful country deserve to be the true world leaders.
