Are halloween masks effective at protecting against COVID-19?
People are wearing Halloween masks because of the face mask shortage.

They won't give any protection (they are not designed to protect anything except the identity of the person daft enough to wear it).
I doubt very much the masks you most often see being worn, will either. A lot of them look like industrial and building-trade, dust-filters.
