@PainfulTruth the travel ban helped only the western states mount their own defense without any additional assistance from the Federal Government.
Because, did you know that Governor Inslee is a snake?
Meanwhile, the tri-state area is being ravaged because of an unprotected front door, otherwise known as JFK.
Did you know that it’s possible to get from China to the US by way of Europe?
At best, the travel ban was clumsy. As worst, it was xenophobic.
I don’t hate the President. I hate what he represents. I hate that we have become so disenchanted with leadership in the US that we elected two Presidents in a row that had no business being President.
Obama handled the H1N1 epidemic pretty well, but didn’t do anything with what was learned. His obsession with Obamacare left us naked. He continued taking funding away from the NIH, something that Bush started.
Trump can blame Obama all he wants, but he doubled down on this pattern started by the two previous administrations, including wiping out the Pandemic department in the CDC. Fascinating that he claims ignorance about the working of his own administration and yet claims to understand the patterns of a novel virus that epidemiologists are still learning.
For those who hate the President, take a hard look in the mirror.
For those who support him, you should also look in the mirror.
He represents us.
We should expect more of ourselves and each other.

Nah. What's pathetic and sad is when people have such hero worship they refuse to see any problems with leadership and can't look at it with a critical eye. But I do love your solution that everyone else should be coming up with the solutions, because it's their job. Oh no, it's the presidents job, and he's fucked it so entirely, that people have every right to complain about just how he's fucking their lives.

Honestly, I never hated Trump. When he got himself elected though, I immediately recognized that there was something VERY wrong with the world, if the people needed THAT much distraction from power.
