1) people get sick
2) diseases can get away from you before you know what is happening
3) it didn't help that the source government was not forthcoming with details
I'm not sure what precautions you can take with a new disease that you've not seen before - or that you didn't know what released in the wild.
there was plenty of disinformation being spread too.
I hoppe that after this is under control that the government agencies will look at what went right and what went wrong and make corrective actions
