If that is your attitude, friend, you are in the wrong line of work. All people in the business world have some type of dealing with customer service - some more, some less - and I am sure your feelings about this come across.

When I was in the working world, there was ALWAYS SOME type of customer service involved. No matter if I dealt with crabby, grouchy people or nice, wonderful people, I gave them patience, not the back of my hand. If someone called up and said their cab didn't stop in front of their house (our number was one digit difference) I would tell them "this isn't the cab company, sir (or ma'am)"- and give them the correct number. Every one I encountered was eternally grateful. It wasn't part of my job, but I went the extra mile for each. It was appreciated - I never had one complaint about the way I did my work.

What kind of customer are you? Would you want to deal with someone with a sour face and don't-bother-me attitude? I wouldn't.

If you like your job, pick up your attitude during business hours. If you don't like it, begin looking for another line of work. Potential employers check back with former ones, more often than not, and you don't want to be out of work because the former tells the latter how you feel.

@SW-User There are days, true, when you don't feel like dealing with the public. There were days when I felt the same, but I hid it and gave them my "best face". It paid off for me, and I'd love to know you made it work for you. Good luck!

@MaryJanine yes. I do that too. Without them we are nothing. They don't need us we need them. I'm just little upset because of something i had to face today. I'm glad you understand. Thank you.

@SW-User I understand because I was once there. There were days where nothing seemed to go right. but the paycheck and the ability to be at least polite went a long way on a lousy day.

Yes, unless they are abusive. You always do your best to see to the needs of the customer. Abuse is the exception.
No. I also worked in customer service and they frequently make irrational and unreasonable demands.

Customers are why you have a job. They maybe obnoxious but they are paying you for service.
