Going a bit more detailed.

* 32 total colored squares
* 4 more as each corner is a 2x2 square
* 12 more for 2x2s in the center area (can fit a 2x2 square horizontally 4 times and vertically 3 times. 4*3 = 12).
* 6 more for 3x3s in the center area (fits 3 times horizontally, 2 times vertically. 3*2 = 6).
* 2 more for 4x4s (fits horizontally 2 times and vertically 1 times. 4*1 = 4).

32+4+12+6+2 = 56.

Am I missing any?

@SW-User Thanks for BA. 😊

@PirateMonkeyCabinet 😌👌 I will only give BA if there is an answer along with an explanation.
PirateMonkeyCabinet · 36-40, M
@SW-User Duly noted. I shall endavour to only hand in the most finely detailed homework. 🤭

I honestly gave the explanation thinking someone would tell me I had missed this or that, since people managed to count 60+ ones.
SW-User
@PirateMonkeyCabinet You know, right after I saw the number 56, I was going to ask you to explain. But then you automatically give the explanation.

And I was like, "Damn... Best Answer all the way!"
PirateMonkeyCabinet · 36-40, M
@SW-User Didn't really know an explanation was needed, and I didn't see anyone having replied with 56 when I threw it in there. Figured I'd just try to be the first one to get the answer in. Then came the doubt, so I had to figure out what I might have gotten wrong...

Oh well, I shall parade around SW town with my "Best Answer" sash around me.

@PirateMonkeyCabinet An explanation was needed because the correct answer could have been a guess without any understanding of it.

Hahaha! Well, there are two people that got the correct answer. You and the other guy. Both of you have a different way of explanation but have the same answer. He could have gotten the BA but you answered first.

Anyways, this is how I find the answer:

1's = 32, 2's = 16, 3's = 6, 4's = 2

Ans: 56

@SW-User I guess I was lucky with the timing then.

That's a nice, straight-forward explanation.
SW-User
@PirateMonkeyCabinet Yeah, it was almost like a competition.

Thank you. 😌
