Mental illness and religion.

Is it time society viewed religious beliefs as a mental illness?
How would society benefit if it couldn't control billions of people with this nonsensical belief?

Years ago I took some LSD,20 mins later the Spaghetti in my cupboard morphed into a monster and took flight!
The next night when I wasn't under the influence of LSD I read a book that told me a man walked on water and raised the dead..I believed it! So..when was I most delusional?
