If you wanna keep esthetic proportions keep it within the Golden Ratio,
(Age of Older person)/(age of young person) <= 1.6
Meaning if the girl is 18yo, the guy shouldn't be more than 28 and vice versa.
Of course consenting adults can always do whatever they want.
