What is/was EP?

I saw a user here named I stillmissEP and I've seen posts about it. What was it? What made it so good that people ask about it and miss it?

As a platform SW is way better, in terms of users, EP was way better. To me at least, cuz I miss lots of people who never moved to SW.

@TheOneWhoEscaped I prefered EP in pretty much every capacity, the users were better the freaking ability to create your own groups the way that all traffic you got was targeted... here most of what I write is trollbait.
