I’ve haven’t witnessed much of anything, but I’ve heard things before.

I did once quite a while ago. I came out of an all night diner with friends and saw a guy hit a woman. I tried to intervene only to get into a fight with the guy. I'd say I was on the losing end. Then she left with the guy. I do know, however, that victims of domestic violence are afraid to leave the abuser.
