Imagine being a healthcare professional in a country without universal healthcare and working in the emergency department

and having someone in a diabetic coma and be like "Did he give us the $100 for a sugar cube yet?"

Welcome to the U.S. The billionaires who own and govern this country have decided that a massively huge military and their low or non existent taxes are more important than healthcare. Politicians do offer universal healthcare, but they don't win elections.

@Crazywaterspring yeah well the only thing that is "socialist" is the military, how convenient isn't it? I feel for you people... Get out of that situation soon!

@HannibalAteMeOut the problem is that in the US people don't directly elect the president and ruling party, the electoral college does. So even if someone like Bernie won the popular vote, if the electoral college voted for someone else, he'd lose.

@basilfawlty89 yeah I never understood how people still put up with it. They could just get rid of the elections cost all together and just let the aristocracy do their job and vote. And yet they still argue about politics? If it's not within their powers why bother?

@basilfawlty89 Exactly! Hillary won the popular vote but the electoral college gave us trump.

@Crazywaterspring not to mention Bernie got shafted by the DNC.

@basilfawlty89 Iowa caucus. The winner wasn't Biden. They had to cover that one.
