Exploitation?

According to an article I read, a mother of two posted stories and pictures of and about her kids on social media as they grew. Oldest daughter hits her teens and buys hoodies that say "I do not consent to have my photo taken" etc. All over the sweaters. She's getting annoyed that her mom posts those pictures and stories and now wants them all removed. The article quotes someone who commented on the girls original post telling people about her buying the sweaters. The teen includes that when a job or date or anyone searches her name those pictures and stories may come up.

Um. Correct me if I'm wrong. Mom loves her kids and wants to cherish them and share that joy with other parents. I don't see how that could possibly be exploitation. It was probably facebook too, where parents are very often doing that sort of thing. Yoh know, talking about their lives? Which would include their children? Especially if she's a stay at home mother with a mommy blog. And an internet search? Well, even with my own google track record I can still land both a job and a date. My parents and my own rebellious actions as a teen are not preventing me from anything in my future. I seriously doubt her mom posting about her children is going to prevent her teen from the same things.

Sounds OTT and drama on behalf of the teen. They sound lucky to have a mum who loves them
