None of any man made. Just cycles within cycles. The climate has always changed and always will.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@hippyjoe1955 That is true but the argument is that the present change, or the rate of change anyway, is man-made. Either way, it is happening, but if the cause is entirely natural then it is hard to see what if anything mankind can do about it.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ArishMell There is nothing mankind is doing to cause it or can to do to stop it. Most recently science is thinking that the earth's magnetosphere is the culprit and not CO2. CO2 has never changed the temperature in the past and it has been magnitudes higher without run away heating since life is still here. AGW is a money/power grab by the globalists.

@hippyjoe1955 Carbon-dioxide has always been implicated, but it's possible it's a response rather than cause. I know the whole matter has become a toxic mess thanks to politics and commerce, but the real problems that humanity faces (apart from its own population) are of vast areas becoming uninhabitable by higher sea-levels or increasing local temperatures, so displacing huge numbers of people.

The sea-level for the NE Atlantic, recorded in SW England by a tidal gauge since the late 19C, has risen by only about 100mm over more than a century; but whether that rate will continue remains to be seen.

I do not know who or what "globalists" are.

@ArishMell CO2 was shown to not be a driver of climate in the late 1800s and shown to not be a driver over and over and over again. Silly people think that scientists don't lie for wealth and fame. Silly people are silly for a reason.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@hippyjoe1955 Call scientists "liars" if you like (despite the irony of doing so via the Internet); but is your definition of "silly people" those who hold differing views from your own?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ArishMell are scientists human or are they beyond reproach and if they are beyond reproach why do they argue amongst themselves? You are in a cult. No thinking allowed.
IndridCold · 46-50, M
@hippyjoe1955 I love how you point the finger at others saying they don't think and they're part of a cult. Your arguments are truly intelligent and without reproach. Please give us more of your wisdom.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@IndridCold I love how you never question one side and always believe the other. Too funny!
IndridCold · 46-50, M
@hippyjoe1955 But not as funny as you! You're the king of kings of hilarity.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@hippyjoe1955 I am NOT in a cult and I support free thinking! Including that which underlies science.

Of course scientists are human and they do make genuine mistakes that sometimes lead to accepting theories later proven flawed or completely wrong by review or by new evidence that might have had to wait for better techniques to reveal it.

Yes, it is known for scientists to lie, or perhaps more often bias results to suit commissioning bodies, but they are caught out eventually. More often still, the science is correct but those using or quoting its findings distort them.

Science relies on repeatability, test, re-test, review... so gross errors or wilful lies are soon revealed.

So says the guy with a cross as his avatar. You probably believe women come from the ribs of men.
