HHHas anyone else become to notice how frequent theeee ads here have become?

The banner ads not to pt aren't so bad but the constant full page Nutri System ads are flagrant and annoyoing!

Please tone these down!

I don't see these ads., and I think it may well be by how I use the Internet, including the anti-"cookie" filters it offers.

Some might be because an non-UK company that doesn't export to the UK is hardly likely to direct ads to me.

I think more fundamentally though it's because I set the "cookies"* filter offered on my BT Internet home-page to Functional ON but Targetting* OFF.
The difference as I understand it, is that the former are mainly for the ISP's service, the latter is part of the programme that identifies your likely purchasing patterns and sends your details to selected advertising-agencies and their clients.

Outlook, which I use for a secondary account, offers a clearer option by which you can either select particular client companies, or turn the lot off. I turn the lot off.

I may be helping myself too by buying very few things on-line, and very rarely using my Internet bank account. Those things I do buy tend to be for my hobbies so from small specialist companies unlikely to use social-media trawling.

* Foolish word. Since when has a computer programme resembled a biscuit?

** Ghastly word, invented during the first Iraq War, apparently by an US general who affected a strange way of pronouncing his own name.
Since SW has become a basically a Marketing site, I've seriously decided to drop it. Also. the "grammarily" system doesn't wotk here either! Thanknkd,

@Grateful4you ok what's missing? I see a big blank that normally wouldn't be there.

I hate it when it takes me off site. Clear your history frequently. It seems to help.
