Is there anything I should know about that's been on the news?

I'm too emotional to watch the news. Too much sadness. But is there anything I might have missed that I should know about?

Iran shot a plane, said it wasn’t them then said it was a mistake. Lots of anti gov protests which are increasingly out of control.

They are close to finding a form of solid cell that when injected into the body prevents leukaemia.

Taliban want to get back to the negotiating table with the US probably cause of Iran’s downfall and Saudi preferring arts over terrorism.

Indonesia is strongly fighting extremism.

U.K is preparing for Brexit.

E.U are disgusted at the US for wanting to slap them with new tariffs due to them negotiating with Iran, it may lead to retaliation at a larger scale.

Australia is a bit over cooked.

Globally hiv rates are decreasing.

@Sadwithasmile has Trump been impeached? Have the fires in Australia still out of control?
Sadwithasmile · 22-25, M
@melissa001 he has not, but the trial begins on Tuesday.

Australian firefighters are overwhelmed by the fires, us has sent support but they giving up on many areas and focusing on the ancient wilderness areas where some trees are unspeakably priceless. It was never expected that the fire could ever reach that area but it has become inevitable. While destructive it is very good, the fires will help with the land being nutrient rich while also forcing Australian politicians to have a strong stance against climate change.

Florida will purchase 20K acres of wetlands which will become wildlife reserves to prevent oil exploration.

@Sadwithasmile thank u so much. That was what I wanted to know. 🤗

@melissa001 anytime. If you like I can recommend good newspapers that publish information rather than opinionated rubbish that aim to use your emotions against you.

@Sadwithasmile I don't mind seeing some news, like the weather. But everything is about death and animals being abused. I can't take the chance that someone wont talk about sad stories about animals. I'm way too emotional.

Thanks

@melissa001 I’m an economics student, I’m forced to read 7 newspapers a day so I have some knowledge on what is and isn’t worth your time, all I can say is don’t knock it till you try it. And they are mostly all free website newspapers.
melissa001 · 51-55, F
@Sadwithasmile tell me a good newspaper to read please.
Sadwithasmile · 22-25, M
@melissa001
For European news - euronews/BBC

For American - Wall Street journal

For global, economic & other -Reuters

For a jolly good read - The New Yorker

All these are known to be unbiased and just tell you plain facts. I highly recommend Reuter’s, it condenses all of the above into a single outlet, the New Yorker is the funnest newspaper I have ever had the pleasure of reading, it always brings up my mood.
melissa001 · 51-55, F
@Sadwithasmile OK, I'll go with the new Yorker. 😊
Sadwithasmile · 22-25, M
@melissa001 and Reuters, you need some info, can’t all be fun and games. Take care of yourself, ya hear?
