Because men can't win...
If men compliment, then people ask why and question like this, if they point out the negatives, then people attack them for shaming others. Which is the better option? I think most agree, being more positive is better than being more negative.
Also just because you don't find someone as pretty, doesn't matter that someone else might not find them very pretty.
Trying to help others with the kindness as well.
