@SW-User I heard on the news this morning that they have arrested 180 people in relation to lighting fires, surly that can’t be right?

@Tomorrow I don’t know the facts yet but there will be an element of true to the story. Hundreds of billions of dollars damage, the loss of 17 lives, the loss of countless business and the loss of tens of thousands of livestock and wildlife. An area as big as Cambodia burnt out, what do you think the punishment should be 😐️

@Les02 Apparently 500 million native animals have died so far. They say our ecology will never be the same again. It's so sad :(

Wow i hadn't heard about anyone lighting fires. 180 if it's true is just crazy. Apparently we've had a few looters too which is really sad.

@Les02 I can't put into words how severe it should be. They have ruined property, taken human lives and slaughtered wildlife, the cost of lost revenue and property is unfathomable, caused untold emotion and physical pain and suffering... Who ever they are, they are heartless, evil creatures and should be treated as such. It is simply unbelievable anyone could do that.

I have read and am heart broken that that some of the animal population may never recover and the landscape changed forever.

@Tomorrow It doesn’t matter there age or mental condition, as far as I’m concerned they should taken out of circulation for the rest of their lives

@Tomorrow @Les02 @SW-User 183 charged with various offences including breaking fire bans, cigarettes and matches out of car windows, etc etc [b]27 for actually lighting fires[/b]. Typically the media beat up the numbers. 27 is 27 too many.

@KiwiBird I suspected it was going to be something like that, thanks for the update. What should be done with those 27🤷‍♀️
