What advice would you give to a homeless?

@rckt148 Indeed...some of the people I’ve met who have ended up homeless have done all that one could reasonably do. What “advice” would someone give them ?
“Next time, don’t rent from someone who’s going to sell the building out from under you” ? “Don’t have a child with a debilitating, expensive illness” ? And homeless children ? “Don’t be born to abusive parents” ? “Don’t be mentally ill” ? Nowadays, the only real difference between those with homes and those without is [b]luck[/b]. And anyone’s luck can run out. 😞

@bijouxbroussard I was a star ,and owned my own company .my friends used to say "What more could you possibly want ,you have it all "
I wanted it all paid for ,and I did that in 7 years ,,
But at what cost ,killing myself for a wife and an uncle ,and neither of them appreciated my sacrifices ,I was living my dream ,but with a bad back it was hard work too ,it was a job .
But when you're back can't carry you ,you're dominant arm is paralyzed .
What can you do ?I was scared to death .
I couldn't even sit on a bar stool and play music ,I couldn't shift the gears in my truck .and my Uncle who refused to give me the info for my insurance he charged me every hour I worked for him ,and I could have put him in prison ,but he was my Dads sisters husband ,and she was in bad health .I would have ruined her life too ,but I just knew for my loyalty he would help me ,but he never did.
The North Carolina insurance commission said if I said he paid me by the hour ,he was going to prison ,so I lied and said I was paid by the board .
But between my come back ,and going into business for myself .
I lost my wife ,my home and my dignity .I knew lots of millionaires who would have helped me ,but I was to proud to call on them ,,they warned me ,
To look after myself ,not my Uncle .I had already made him millions ,had he ever in anyway shown he cared about me ? ,they wanted to hire me to run companies for them ,,but I was dumb and loyal .but he sit back and watched me loose everything and did nothing to help ,even told people I lost my case ,he knew why I lost .
It took me about 5 yrs all total to get my disability ,
But it was the homeless that helped me .
Before I lost it all ,I called myself helping them ,giving them 2's and few's
Contributing to the mission (I knew the owner before I was unable to work )
He offered me a place to stay ,but I chose to live with the people who helped me
Until a lady heard me sing at the mission and asked if she could help me ,
She got me into a studio ,booked me concerts ,and soon I was back on top
except instead of singing rock ,I was singing gospel .instead of being an opening act ,I was the show .
I had to many assets when my wife left me ,so I couldn't get any help from the state ,I lost it all ,but I gained back everything I lost and then some .
I paid her back all the money she put into me ,and I still help at the mission
as do all my kids and grandkids now ,its not the same mission but we still give back as often as we can..I will never forget who was there for me .
when I couldn't take care of myself . *I have met some of the same people I knew in North Carolina living on the streets here in Florida ,they call it their little gig ,,"You know me Rick ,still just doing my little hustle ,my little gig" Most of them get little checks ,they are homeless because they want to be
They answer to no one .
All I have ever known is hard work and to use my talents
When I was put in a position that I had no where to turn .
I learned real quick ,my pride was my enemy ,
But I made it ,the homeless took real good care of me until I could help myself ,there was nothing I could tell them ,they showed me .

Like they don’t already know that they don’t have a home and why. @xixgun
