if you got slapped on the butt from a stranger does that equate into an assault charge?

a news anchor had her bottom slapped during a filming of a race, some creepy middle age man ran up behind her and slapped her on the behind and later got an assault charge.

Yes, an unwanted touching is an assault.

@DragonFruit if a woman did that to a man would it be the same response? i know what he did was stupid but should of it got that far? ive got touched by a woman when helping at soup kitchen should of i pressed charges because she touched me?

@badapple It's not a question of whether you should press charges (that’s up to you) but, if the touching was unwanted, you could press charges because any unwanted touching can be viewed as an assault.
