Why are people so cold to non visible disabilities?

Seriously some are so rude.
BlueVeins · 22-25
Lack of understanding, invariably.
Soramarie · 26-30, F
@BlueVeins so true! Some days i limp some days visibly they cannot see the crippling chronic pain in my hips. But comparison is not always there. When they see a 26 year old parked in a handicapped spot with her service dog they assume it’s all fake.

@BlueVeins I try to remind myself that I was once blind to suffering until I knew it personally.
Powderflask · 31-35, M
@Soramarie I been there.
WeighedDown · 36-40, M

Soramarie · 26-30, F

Sad

I have a very obvious one & still get that treatment. *a deep sigh for the loss of humanity*

its crazy. With me people see a 26 year old in handicap parking with her service dog and assume I’m faking. They cannot see the crippling chronic pain in my hips due to any wrong movement.

@Soramarie Yes, I get those looks and comments as if my ass is attached to this wc is for fun or fakery. Comments like, " lucky you..can we trade ?, I'm tired of walking"😶🙄
Soramarie · 26-30, F
people flipping sick
Powderflask · 31-35, M
I'm not sure, maybe they don't consider it a disability?
