Why do stores not kick out fake service dogs?

Seriously it’s pretty clear. If it’s not walking correctly on a leash, or it’s barking at people, or trying to lunge at people or legit service dog teams it’s a FAKE. Oh or if they ride in carts.....My service dog got bit at twice yesterday! Also if they had you a registration card show them the door. ADA does not have a registration!

Do service dogs in your area have some form of identification, like a special coat or tag?

@Bushranger no in the US vests are not required and it is illegal to ask anything other than
is is a service dog ?
and
what task does it preform?
But the Ada also states that they may ask the animal to leave if it is disruptive.

@Soramarie Over here they are required to wear a blue coat with yellow lettering saying they are service dogs. It takes a lot of training to earn the coat.

I don't object to someone being asked to leave if their dog is being disruptive, because that would indicate that it's not a properly trained service dog.

@Bushranger here a vest isn’t required but 99% of us put them on our dogs to stop people who believe they are from bothering us. It’s also a nice indicator for the dog to behave as they are working when it’s on. But we as handlers rely on the companies to remove disruptive dogs and they fail miserably.

@Soramarie It's sad that you have to put up with that. I hope things improve for you in the future 🤗

its the idiots that ask for the registration that floor me. Employees need PROPER training on what they are to do!

@Bushranger thank you! I love that the laws here allow you to owner train you dog as well! That’s a blessing! I’ve brought my boy up from a pup and I’ve spent the hours and hours with him. Not some company

@Soramarie Believe it or not, some of the dogs over here are trained by prisoners. They do a pretty good job of it to. As far as I know, most of the trainers are not for profit groups with a strong history of dog training.

@Bushranger we have a program that does this for dogs before shelter adoptions. Like fostering, and some for service dogs as well.

@Soramarie I know that it did some of the prisoners a lot of good.
