@SW-User I think I found several aspects about it interesting. One being learning how the opposing view saw an issue and their reasoning behind it. I just saw it as an information trade. Seldom turned out that way.
Another was so I could try to show people where I thought their logic had flaws. Trying to get them to see my view. It never worked.
And then the one I'm not so proud of but none the less I participated in most often was the insult trading. Yes I did enjoy someone attempting to get my goat by calling me vulgar names and making unsubstantiated claims towards my character. Maybe that part is just human nature. I did, however, never start that part.
