Any Elk hunters in here ?

I’m looking to get into it. What advice do you all have? What’s the gun with least kick that I can use? Can you cut and store it like a deer, or do you need to do different stuff? Where should I go to do it?

Elk are deer. A slightly larger species than others but they are still a deer. Any deer rifle you use now will be sufficient.

@Soramarie They are bigger than white tails or mule deer but they are not nearly as large as a moose.

oh Ik they aren’t moose sized. Im excited to try my hand at hunting them! Something new. Great way to put food on the table

@Soramarie I would hunt but I don't like the taste of wild meat. lol A friend of mine went hunting on my ranch when I still had it and shot a nice 4 point Whitetail deer. He gave me a roast. It was so bad tasting the dog wouldn't eat it.

i love white tail. I grew up on it. If a butcher cut it that’s why. I hate the taste of farm raised 😂
