Why do people listen to music? Why do YOU listen to music?

Also, I know someone who says he doesn’t like to sing, but I frequently hear him singing or humming to himself.

I listen to music for many reasons. I listen to remember times and places and people. I listen to forget the pain or loss I am feeling. I listen to music that moves me inside, to dance, to sing, to clean. Some is uplifting while others can bring a tear. I listen to some to connect with others and to show them a little more about me because music and represent a bit of who you are.

Some take me back to my days at Palisade Gardens Roller Rink, a place I played and worked. Some take me back to Smitty's Disco where danced the night away and then there are the songs that remind me of my time stationed in West Germany, the friends I made and some that are lost forever.

So I listen for every reason one can think of, even when I'm angry and trying to let it all out, constructively. Music is so much and yeah, I sing my heart out sometimes and remember being in school choir or singing to my gf at the beach.

@Mindful Thank you and it does. Lucky for me, I was brought up with everything from Rock and Soul to Classical and Opera and pretty much a bit of everything in between. I could go to Rob Zombie and follow it up with La bohème. :D
