I was about 10 or younger when I first used a gun. I shot a can off the fence in the woods whilst on holiday with my dad. I was never that interested in it after that. I actually only did it twice then I never really cared about guns. I now hate guns. I shot the gun cabinet last year as I was bored on holiday at a farm , same place. I say yes and no , some kids are mature and know what you can do and shouldn’t do with guns , whilst some don’t understand or are mentally ill and use them for the wrong reasons. I say it all depends on the person. I was curious and I found out what it was like to use one then that curiosity died out even when my dad cleaned them in front of me and I watched him load them , I guess I got used to being around them all my life I never really bothered about using them as it wasn’t no longer a new thing. I think giving them an opportunity just to try it with being surprised at all times is ok but it’s teaching them right from wrong and how to be mature and safe around them including others safety.
