Do you have an internal compass or are you like me?

Just got back from tending my daughter's critters. I always drive merrily and blissfully along until I see Allsup's on the corner and that's where I turn. (Street names - Pah!)

Only this time I did not see Allsup's on the corner. As a recovering alcoholic I resolutely ignore the liquor store on the opposite corner.

Whut?

I turned around and drove back. I'm telling you somebody had stolen the Allsup's convenience store and 12-pump gas station. Their sign was not there.

Then some little brain synapse fired and I remembered reading that Allsup's 304 stores had changed hands...and I realized the store was still there ... it's just not Allsup's anymore.

That was a Twilight Zone minute...

They put in an overpass over an intersection around here that caused ridiculous tie-ups with just a signal. I'm not kidding, in the afternoon, traffic could get backed up for a mile with people waiting for the light to change. The first few times I went over there after they finished it, intending to turn on the cross street, I drove right past it even though there were huge green signs indicating what was now a highway exit. I was expecting a regular cross street, and when I didn't see one, I just kept going until I noticed that I had gone too far. I must have done this at least three or four times until I remembered to watch for the signs and exit that way.
@LeopoldBloom I would have done it 3 or 40 times. My sense of direction is somehow non-existent but still stubborn.
