Dear British People,

enough is enough.
Really. Stop making an ass of yourselves. You are nice and kind and lovely people, do you really want to become the laughing stock of the civilized world?
"The people have spoken", haha. Just accept the fact that Brexit was/is/will always be a textbook example of a crackpot idea that leads nowhere but down.
Now get rid of the Demonic Possession and come back home please. We Europeans aren't perfect either, and we will happily accept your sincere apologies. Just send us a bottle of Isle of Skye whisky and an annual subscription to the Royal Shakespeare Company, and we will be fine. See you in Paris/Berlin/Rome next summer, let's get drunk [and I mean drunk!], and let's have a good laugh together, about this present madness. 🌷

Yours cordially,
helenS.

[Note added: this post is no longer relevant. The majority of British people have now decided, at their peril, to harm their own interests, and "get Brexit done". So be it. Go find more trustworthy friends. Mr. Trump is waiting for you. 😕]

totally agree with you, as an American!!

@Docdon23 I sometimes ask myself, what do Americans think about this madness? Are there Brexit news on American TV?
Docdon23 · M
@helenS There is very little about Brexit on US TV, and most Americans probably do not know much about it. We are so wrapped up in political wrangling over which side you are on with trunp and impeachment...and the growing tide of shootings, violence, racial issues, and more...a very troubling time right now...I follow Brexit and the world as a former world history teacher...and interested citizen of the world...

@Docdon23 We are all planetary citizens, or we should be.
My flag? Give me a globe! 😁

@helenS Again, I totally agree...but nationalism seems on the rise in many places. I remember teaching, and a student would say, "we should only help people in our country"...to which I would say, a starving baby anywhere is a tragedy we should care about. And the climate and mess we are heading towards certainly is a global issue!!!

@Docdon23 Yes almost nothing we experience on a local scale is really a local phenomenon. It's all entangled. The climate is a perfect (and terrifying) example.
"Think globally, act locally." That's real conservatism.
