Dear British People,

enough is enough.
Really. Stop making an ass of yourselves. You are nice and kind and lovely people, do you really want to become the laughing stock of the civilized world?
"The people have spoken", haha. Just accept the fact that Brexit was/is/will always be a textbook example of a crackpot idea that leads nowhere but down.
Now get rid of the Demonic Possession and come back home please. We Europeans aren't perfect either, and we will happily accept your sincere apologies. Just send us a bottle of Isle of Skye whisky and an annual subscription to the Royal Shakespeare Company, and we will be fine. See you in Paris/Berlin/Rome next summer, let's get drunk [and I mean drunk!], and let's have a good laugh together, about this present madness. 🌷

Yours cordially,
helenS.

[Note added: this post is no longer relevant. The majority of British people have now decided, at their peril, to harm their own interests, and "get Brexit done". So be it. Go find more trustworthy friends. Mr. Trump is waiting for you. 😕]

Don't worry. We're not going to leave. We never were. Too much money at stake.

@vorian oh I wish. Sadly I think it's the other way, too much money at stake not to leave - both the short term betting against the pound, and the longterm 'strip all regulations and treat workers like utter shit' (i.e. the American option.
vorian · 51-55, M
@firefall don't believe the hype. We won't be allowed to leave pal. Not in any meaningful way.
firefall · 61-69, M
@vorian If I knew you in person, I'd offer a wager on that. But I hope, for the sake of my British friends, you are correct.
UnderStars · 51-55, F
@vorian what about all the money we have already wasted so far?? We'll never recoup that!
helenS · 36-40, F
@UnderStars Money is not important. What really counts is your heart. Cheers.
UnderStars · 51-55, F
@helenS the whole point of leaving as many understood it was so Britain could use its own money to do with as we wish without constraints from the EU. Of course the average man in the street had no clue how much funding Britain actually received from the EU and how much we will actually loose by leaving.
UnderStars · 51-55, F
Id rather pretend this wasnt happening and stay....@helenS
helenS · 36-40, F
@UnderStars Especially those regions in the UK that were abandoned, neglected, disregarded by the British government, those that were funded by Europe – especially those voted "Leave". 😐
UnderStars · 51-55, F
@helenS yes. Where i live being one such area. So much work been done here to improve the town. New bus station, new high school, new sea defences. All paid for by EU money. We'll get nothing from Westminister.
helenS · 36-40, F
@UnderStars I think this has already started in the late 70's, under Mrs Thatcher, when the UK was transformed into a financial engine located in London.

@vorian yes we are....but the deal on the table still ties us to the eu and is not what we voted for...in a few years time if we don't leave, everyone who wanted to remain, will be wishing they had...
vorian · 51-55, M
@Platinum kind of what I was trying to say...we won't leave.
Platinum · M
More a half in, half out....I don't care anymore , it won't alter my life...I don't know how to vote in the elections , I would never vote Corbyn ....@vorian
helenS · 36-40, F
@Platinum Why not voting for Jo Swinson? On 17 September 2019, Swinson said that Boris Johnson "claims he can negotiate a Brexit deal in a month. I wouldn't hold out much hope: yesterday he couldn't negotiate where to have a press conference"
Platinum · M
You are kidding, she wants us to forget we had a referendum...her husband is doing very well from the eu so she wants to stay ...Boris was stopped by law from getting us out, he was forced to ask for an extension .he did negotiate a deal not that I like it..@helenS
helenS · 36-40, F
@Platinum I understood he didn't sign the letter to Brussels...
Anonymous letter from Number 10! 😁
Platinum · M
Yep, but they still gave us an extension....@helenS
helenS · 36-40, F
@Platinum An extension by a decade might help 😆
Platinum · M
I can see you marching in the eurpean army next year after eating dry bread and water@helenS
