Land leasing question!?
This is an Aussie farm I am going to ask about, but maybe leasing land out is similar in other places. But if anyone can fill me in or give me some advice I'd love to hear it.
I have 100 acres the farmer next door wants to lease, for maybe 5 years, which means, he will look after the land, and fences, and his cattle. Maybe even invest in getting the chemicals to get the grass back to good feed. Or I can just do short term agistment, where I take care of the fences and the land, and his cattle, and he pays me monthly.
Im not really keen on a 5yr lease, but anything shorter and he understandably doesn't want to invest in the time, work, and money to get the land up to where it is best for him. But I feel like i'd die of boredom if i don't have the work to do, that's the best part of this farm.
I havn't owned one before, and would like to learn what I can with agistment and then decide what to do, so, any advice, tips, thoughts?
