Would you consider it hypocritical if someone was big into politics and global events but not interest in local people or their community

There was an internet maxim in the early 90s...think globally, act locally. This works pretty well for any causes/important beliefs you have, IMO.

So this inability is more of a failure of thought in terms of realizing that your global perspective of course has local implications.
