turkey. it's a tradition, and i love the combo of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, collard greens, and cranberry sauce, followed by pumpkin and/or pecan pie.

Wait... When did ham and beef start coming from birds?

Traditional - Turkey.

Growing up Mom would alternate our feasts between home grown turkey and home grown ham. Some of our kids don't like ham so we stick with turkey. Sadly we can't find any free range turkey so the meal is not quite the same.

@hippyjoe1955 My mom always had turkey for my birthday (in January); ham for Easter and New Year's (none of us liked lamb, we found it too smelly and greasy), and turkey again for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Occasionally, she would buy a small turkey breast (no jokers, please) and make that so she wouldn't have weeks-on-end leftovers-on-end.

Not sure but I don't think beef comes from a bird. Last time I was on the farm beef came from cows.

@hippyjoe1955 I changed the post. But the smart people got my question. 🙂
