Keeping up with the pace and extent of the corruption in our government these days is really hard.

I don't know about the Kardashians, but NFL teams at least only play one game a week.

It's easier than caring. I imagine people feel helpless and incapable, so they seek distractions instead of contributing to change.

Because it's passive and a vacuous escape. It requires nothing more than time.

Incidentally, I am an American and have never watched the Kardashians or the NFL.
I don't keep up with what's going on in our corrupt government because none of the people who have openly tried to overthrow the government of the United States has been jailed for treason or at the very least removed from their position.
