When someone hurts you, do you confront or ignore?

I fail at times but mostly I ignore. Someone on here the other day was talking trash about my dog (she is a pit bull). Took all I could muster to not lash out. I sent a message to a friend instead. My dog is my weak spot.

@curiosi Anyone who would trash someone's dog is about as low as it gets.
