Have you ever quit anything for a good reason?

12 years ago I quit rowing in order to spend more time with my son. I used to wake up at 4am every morning except on Saturdays and row between 16 to 20 Kms on the water, plus weight lifting and running. I don't regret it, but I miss everything about rowing.

Can you not re apply yourself on a much more casual basis? Maybe get that son ivolved?

@Carla My problem is that I'm a wee tad paranoid and end up taking it to the very extreme. My son is involved in other sports such as football (US: soccer) and skateboarding.

@SAAB71 ah, well. Don't deprive yourself. In the years that come you may lose your abilities.
It would be sad to live with that..."only if".

@Carla I know! The good thing is that rowing is a sport that can be performed by people whose age ranges from 12 to 99! Oh, do I miss it!

@SAAB71 but don't you believe that those that surround you would be pleased to see you doing something you love? People who do things for themselves are much more apt to happily do things for others.

@Carla Some of my rowing mates keep sending me messages because even though I'm not tall or extremely strong, they say my stamina compensates for what I lack. I really plan to go back one day. Just don't know when.

Don't put it off too long, @SAAB71. Live!

@Carla I've been putting it off for quite some time now. Rowing and music, actually...
