@GoldenWorm because unlike Obama thinking that the world was a checkers game the world is actually a chess game you have to think about your next move Russia wants to become a world power again but their economy is in no position to do that at the moment and it doesn't look like it'll be there anytime soon Russia does have extremely high-tech weaponry they have weapons that can make some of our systems completely uses like the aegis system.
