Why is Trump so dead set against the environment?

Why is he reversing anything to combat pollution? Do we suddenly not need clean air and water anymore?

@Pitchblue Cole is still viable if we shut down every coal plant you won't be able to feel your electric car we don't have enough energy sources from alternative energy currently and without coal we would have rolling brownouts throughout the country the state I live in has I believe 6 coal-fired power plants
