If someone hides their marital status, is this considered cheating ?

For some it s more of a turn on if you are married

I would think it depends on their intention.
If I've never told you my marital status, it doesn't mean I'm cheating. It merely means we've never discussed my marital status.
Now, if you asked me for my marital status, and I lied about it because I felt a need to see what I may be missing out on....then that would be akin to cheating, in my book.

I don't feel the need to ask people for their marital status, any more than I feel the need to ask about their sexual preference. It's really none of my business.

Ask their spouse.

“Not Advertising” something is not the same as advertising falsely. However, if asked point blank, that person has a right to be truthful with the asker

Not cheating per se, but would depend on underlying motivation. It's no different than hiding real names, age, where we live, etc...

Deliberately doing so is just as offensive. It’s not always that one’s status comes up in casual conversation, but claiming otherwise once faced with reality is certainly questionable.
