Why do people disappear?

Why do people cut you off instead of being very honest and open that they are going to be busy for a few days?

I suspect it’s because life is so busy that it’s too much of an effort to be declarative.

@JoeyFoxx depends on 'few days' . Like if we talk to each other 25 times a day and the person disappears for 2 months, I assume that it is for good. (It's not that only I do the calling. It's reciprocal. Goes both ways)
