I sort of get it. It's not unusual to feel uncomfortable when your partners broadcasting their body to people. Guys know what other guys are like so he knows there's people checking you out, It's not really insecurity it's just uncomfortable. It's like if girls were checking out your boyfriend in front of you, you know he's faithful but you still don't like it. So it's not you, it's other people he's annoyed about probably.
Still, he should just say it instead of being passive about it, probably bothers him but he doesn't want to make trouble.
