Believe it or not, I met some Russians who were visiting the states and they did drink a lot of vodka, I'm very sorry to not be sarcastic here. They also made me borscht and said the only way was to put a bunch of sour cream in it. It was delicious but they DID drink a lot of vodka with their meal lols. Like a lot lol.
Strangely, I was away from home at that point and it was in an area that generally wasn't known for its politeness.
Those Russians made me feel at home even if just for a minute. Warm food, fire, vodka. They were kind of all kind of touchy feelie too (not in like a harassment sort of way) just kind of like "I want to embrace you" kind of way.
It was a nice contrast to the industrial landscape that became cold towards its fellow human beings ☺️

@SatanBurger what I learned from a family that runs a Russian restaurant nearby is that Russians regard vodka as a beverage to have with dinner, similarly to how Americans drink beer.
But I bet they don't drink it as babies 😂
